This is an Antique 1800's Cast Iron Pressure Cooker Pot which came out of a rural Pennsylvania estate and it is in good looking condition. We've seen many early pressure cookers but this one is made out of cast iron with a steel handle which separates it from practically all of the others. This one is missing one of the three cast iron hooks which holds the top on and the cooker overall is free of any cracks. However don't cook with it because we're warned that these early pressure cookers were subject to explosions. On the ''History of Pressure Cookers'' website there is a picture of another cast iron pressure cooker which dates back to 1680. This is a rare one if you are enamored by the earliest pressure cookers. It measures 12'' in diameter x 14'' in height and weighs 20 pounds.
